Uplift Eureka relies on grant funding to provide housing assistance to community members experiencing homelessness. Grant funding is currently limited to the Homeless Housing, Assistance and Prevention grant (HHAP-4).
Uplift Eureka assists Participants experiencing homelessness with securing permanent housing, and provides financial assistance for application fees, deposits & rent. Once housed, Supportive Services are available to all Participants to assist with identifying needs and goals, and accessing the necessary resources to ensure their long-term housing stability. Through collaborating with partnering agencies, coordination of services pos itions Participants to obtain independence and overall well-being.
Homeless Housing, Assistance and Prevention - Rapid Rehousing Program
HHAP makes available grant allocations to cities, counties, and continuums of care with flexible funding to prevent and end homelessness in their regions (www.hcd.ca.gov). The HHAP Rapid Rehousing (RRH) program provides the services necessary to help those persons quickly regain stability in permanent housing after experiencing a housing crisis and/or homelessness. RRH assistance is available for persons who are experiencing homelessness.
Examples of homelessness ar e:
·Place not meant for habitation (car, abandoned building, bus/train station, etc) ·Emergency shelter or Youth Host Home shelter
·Staying in a hospital or other institution for up to 120 days but was sleeping in an emergency shelter or other place not meant for habitation immediately prior to entry into the hospital or institution
·Fleeing Domestic Violence and are also experiencing one of the situations listed above
